No single specialty owns the aorta, and no single perspective is enough to treat its most complex diseases.

This principle lies at the heart of the Edinburgh Aortic Summit 2027, taking place on 22–23 April 2027.

Following the success of our inaugural Summit in 2025, EAS returns with an international programme that follows the aorta as one organ from root to bifurcation. Cardiac and vascular surgeons, interventional radiologists, imaging specialists, anaesthetists, intensivists, specialist nurses and patients will come together around the same cases and the same difficult decisions.

Aortic care often crosses traditional anatomical and professional boundaries. EAS 2027 will follow the complete patient journey from the first scan and multidisciplinary decision to intervention, complication management, recovery and lifelong surveillance. Every stage matters, and every member of the team has something important to contribute.

EAS 2027 will not be defined by conventional lectures. It will focus on the moments that truly shape outcomes: when to intervene, which treatment to choose, how to manage complications and when established practice should be challenged. Through complex cases, focused debate and honest discussion, we will examine open, endovascular and hybrid approaches, sharing not only what works, but also what remains uncertain.

You will hear from internationally recognised experts, explore emerging evidence and technologies, and gain practical insights that can be applied within your own service. Trainees and early-career colleagues will have opportunities to present their work, while patients and charitable organisations will ensure that lived experience remains central to our discussions.

The value of the Summit will extend beyond the scientific sessions. It will create opportunities for meaningful conversation, new professional relationships and collaborations across specialties, institutions and countries.
