The Edinburgh Aortic Summit invites clinicians, researchers, trainees, allied health professionals and multidisciplinary teams to submit their work for consideration at EAS 2027.

Selected authors will have the opportunity to present their work to an international and multidisciplinary audience dedicated to improving aortic care.

Key Dates

Abstract submissions open on: 1 September 2026.
Submissions deadline: 1 December 2026
Notification of outcome: 10 January 2027
Deadline to confirm oral presentation in the dedicated Abstracts Session: 25 Jan 2027

Deadline for presenting authors to register: 1 March 2027

Selected abstracts will be considered for publication in an open-access supplement to the Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery.

Abstract Submission Requirements

Before submitting, please ensure that:

  • The abstract is written in English.

  • The abstract is approximately 250 words.

  • The work is original and has not already been published elsewhere.

  • All necessary rights and permissions have been obtained.

  • All named authors are aware of and have approved the submission.

  • The proposed presenting author is included in the author list.

Presentation at EAS 2027

All abstracts selected for oral presentation, ePoster display or publication must be linked to one registered author.

Oral presentations and ePoster displays

The named presenting author must register for EAS 2027 under the applicable delegate registration category and attend the Summit in person.

Publication-only abstracts

Where an abstract is selected for publication consideration without an oral presentation or ePoster display, one named author must complete the applicable virtual registration for EAS 2027.

Registration does not guarantee publication - Abstracts selected for the journal supplement remain subject to final editorial approval by the Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery.

If the presenting author changes, the replacement presenter must be a named author on the original submission.

Publication Opportunity

Selected abstracts may be considered for publication in an open-access supplement to the Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery.

Publication is subject to:

  • Review and selection by the EAS Scientific Committee

  • Compliance with the Journal’s requirements

  • Completion of the Publisher’s required documentation

  • Any requested editorial corrections or revisions

  • Final editorial approval by the Journal

Acceptance for an oral presentation or ePoster display at EAS 2027 does not guarantee publication.

Important Information

  • Abstracts may be edited through the submission portal until the submission deadline.

  • All named authors must be aware of and approve the submission.

  • All relevant funding and competing interests must be declared.

  • Appropriate ethics approval and consent must have been obtained where required.

  • Authors must respond to requests for corrections or additional information by the stated deadline.

  • Failure to register, respond or complete required documentation may result in withdrawal of an accepted abstract.

  • Full submission terms and mandatory declarations are provided within the abstract submission portal.
